Salvadore aims to support visceral and engaging practices that ask questions about the world in which we live and how we understand it. We offer year round residencies for artists and makers who want to work independently on their own clay-based projects.
Our subsidised residencies take place over 3 week sessions in the Spring and Autumn, aimed at practitioners who wish to work independently within the context of other makers and thinkers.
Applications for our subsidised ceramics residency programme for 2019 are now closed.
Throughout the year we welcome stays from one weekend to one month for both professional and hobbying potters. For beginners, or those looking for further support; tuition is available from our resident ceramicists.
Those joining will make in studio spaces and outdoor terraces with views over the river and beautiful surrounding countryside, with access to a daily firing and several hours use of the wheel per day. You will be invited to work with our special clays - a fine white earthenware produced nearby in Limoges and a mica rich red clay produced a little further south in the Haute-Provence. We work with local clays and traditional methods to encourage residents to gain a deeper relationship with ceramic materials and processes.
